The Taurus PT809 is a full-size, hammer-fired, polymer-framed 9mm pistol featuring a 4-inch chrome-lined barrel, 17+1 capacity, fully ambidextrous controls, and a traditional DA/SA trigger with frame-mounted safety/decocker. This Brazilian-made duty pistol measures approximately 8.25 inches in overall length and weighs approximately 28.2-30.2 ounces unloaded, positioned as a feature-rich duty or home-defense handgun. A similar in design to the PT-24/7 OSS, but adds an external hammer. The trigger is double-action (DA/SA) with second-strike capability. Features include Novak sights, 17 shot magazine, front and rear slide serrations and lower Picatinny rail.
